The Orri Mandarin was developed in Israel in 1989 and is a hybrid variety. Today, Orri mandarins are predominately grown in Israel, but select growers have also been licensed in the United States, Spain, South Africa, and South America. The fruit is small (approximately 50g) and has a rounded shape, with the stalk area being slightly flat. It has a very high sugar content, exceptionally offset and balanced by its acid content, which gives a unique and characteristic flavour to this variety.
Mandarin is rich in vitamin C and A. Like other mandarins, they are a good source of dietary fibres and potassium. Satsuma Mandarins are an important source of antioxidants such as naringenin, naringin and pectin.
