Navelina oranges, along with other varieties, are primarily grown in Spain, which is the world's largest orange supplier. This type of oranges is medium or medium-large sized and pear shaped. They have small navels, from which they get their name, and which are actually very small, undeveloped fruits. The red-orange, mostly smooth and thin rind hides flesh that is relatively juicy, sweet, and seedless. Limousin AOP Golden apples are the only apples in France to benefit from a ‘’Protected Designation of Origin’’ (PDO) label. Slightly elongated, pulp is white and firm, texture is crisp and juicy.
Navelina oranges are high in Vitamin C. Health benefits include strengthening of heart condition and overall of the immune system. Apples provide a fair amount of vitamins, contain a dietary fiber pectin (known to lower cholesterol levels and help to prevent heart attacks). They also contain boron, which helps to build strong bones. They can be stored up to 3 months in a refrigerator.
