Originated from a natural cross that appeared in 2007, this apple variety has been grown in France for a few years. Also known under the name ‘’Choupette’’, the Dalinette apple is a late variety, it should be consumed preferably from January to April. Very crisp with a rustic aspect, the taste of Dalinette apple is perfectly balanced. Sweet and tangy, it reveals a subtle and full-bodied perfume. Still little known, this apple has a lot of character and is worth discovering.
Apples are a great snacking fruit as they are low in calories, high in water content and offer a fair amount of vitamins A, B and C. They also contain a dietary fiber known as pectin, which has been shown to lower cholesterol levels and help prevent heart attacks. They also contain trace amounts of boron, which has been touted for its ability to help build strong bones.
