Originated from a natural cross that appeared in 2007, this apple variety has been grown in France for a few years. Also known under the name ‘’Choupette’’, the Dalinette apple is a late variety, it should be consumed preferably from January to April. Very crisp with a rustic aspect, the taste of Dalinette apple is perfectly balanced. Sweet and tangy, it reveals a subtle and full-bodied perfume. Still little known, this apple has a lot of character and is worth discovering. As a cousin of the Bartlett pear, Arrow Sweet pear is also bell shaped but the colour differs. Its yellow-green skin tends to reddish as it ripe. Inside, they have pale white, juicy flesh. Its white flesh is fine and juicy and its perfume is slightly musky.
Apples are a great snacking fruit as they are low in calories, high in water content and offer a fair amount of vitamins A, B and C. They also contain a dietary fiber known as pectin, which has been shown to lower cholesterol levels and help prevent heart attacks. They also contain trace amounts of boron, which has been touted for its ability to help build strong bones. Pears are an excellent, healthy part of the diet. They contain fiber, which helps the digestive system work smoothly and may help lower cholesterol levels. They also contain calcium, iron, protein, antioxidants and vitamin C.
