The Choupette apple is a rustic variety, bi-colored, with a purple-red on its most colored face. Native from Angers in France, the variety is crunchy, juicy and perfectly sweet. This Valencia orange is not for juice but for tasting as it is. Pioneer American agronomist and land developer William Wolfskill discovered this variety in the mid-19th century in southern California in the United States. Worldwide, Valencia oranges are known to be the only variety of orange in season during summer.
Apples are a great snacking fruit as they are low in calories, high in water content and offer a fair amount of vitamins A, B and C. They also contain a dietary fiber known as pectin, which has been shown to lower cholesterol levels and help prevent heart attacks. They also contain trace amounts of boron, which has been touted for its ability to help build strong bones. Valencia oranges are high in Vitamin C. Health benefits include strengthening of heart condition and overall of the immune system.
