Grown by several Native American tribes, Sweet Corn was introduced to European at the end of the 18th Century. Categorized as a cereal with high sugar content, it is picked when immature and prepared and eaten as a vegetable, rather than a grain. There are currently hundreds of varieties across the world. Our Sweet Corn under vacuum is organic and ready for use.
Like all cereal grains, corn is primarily composed of carbs. It is rich in fibers (beneficial for digestion), vitamins (preventing ageing of cells) and minerals. Sweet Corn is particularly high in lutein and zeaxanthin, two carotenoids that may prevent cataracts and age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
