First recorded in China (Manchuria) in the 19th century, this spaghetti-like squash became popular worldwide during WWII, where it was used as a substitute for pasta. Best known for its unique flesh, made of long, translucent strings looking alike spaghetti, this squash is a great alternative to carbs. Store squash in a cool, dry place; if cut, tight in wrap and store in the refrigerator for 1-2weeks.
Squashes are filled with Vitamins C and B which, as antioxydants, help preventing aging of skin, hair and nails as well as improving the immune system and fighting inflammations.
