Braeburn apple takes its name from Braeburn Hill in New Zealand, where it was born in 1950. In France, this apple is the fourth most consumed apple after the Golden, Gala and Granny Smith varieties. It is a subtle blend of flavors and scents that makes it yummy and refreshing. Its pulp is tender, juicy and fairly sweet.
Apples provide a fair amount of vitamins, contain a dietary fiber pectin (known to lower cholesterol levels and help to prevent heart attacks). They also contain boron, which helps to build strong bones. They can be stored up to 3 months in a refrigerator.
